Since we're launching a new website, I thought it appropriate to discuss how to optimize your web presence and make your business better.  The Web has become the place for people to look for information, do business, and socialize.  80% of adults use Google each month, and that's just one search engine.  And yes, a lot of people use the internet to look for mold testing services.  There's three main things to focus on:

1. An Efficient Website

Your website needs to be visually pleasing and not overly complex.  People need to find the information they are looking for quickly and easily or else they will leave.  The most important information should be the easiest to find.  If you are a DIY kind of person and are good at working with computers you can probably build a website on your own.  Lots of good information is available and a Content Management System, or CMS, may be your best option.  If not, you can hire a professional.  Always talk to at least 3 companies and ask for examples of websites in your price range.

2. Organic Search Rankings

It's not by chance that the top few links show up there when you search Google.  It's called Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, and can have a great and lasting effect on your business.  You can learn to do the basics on your own or hire a professional.  Results will not typically be seen for 6-8 months with SEO, as time is also a factor.  The big things to focus are are detailed page titles, the way things on your pages are phrased, and inbound links to pages on your site from other reputable resources.

3. Paid Search Advertising

While SEO takes time, paid search advertising is instant.  It's the ads that show up on Google and other search engines at the top of the page and on the far right.  This is a great way to generate traffic to your site quickly.  The caveat is that it costs money every time someone clicks.  It is the Yin to SEO's Yang.  Google Adwords makes it easy to get started and 60% of people use Google as their search engine, so your business is instantly in front of a lot of people.

This may seem overwhelming, but it's not that bad.  If you have any questions you can contact me through Assured Bio.
