From Air Collection to Laboratory Analysis
M-TRAP® uses Assured Bio’s molecular entrapment technology to collect airborne material. Select the fungal or bacterial assays that match your investigation’s objectives before beginning collection.
Short-Duration Sampling
- Equipment: a compatible standard air sampling pump and appropriate tubing or adapter.
- Flow rate: 15 liters per minute.
- Collection time: 10 minutes.
- Total air volume: 150 liters.
Pump Compatibility
M-TRAP® connects using 1/4-inch tubing commonly used with air sampling pumps. Compatible options include the Buck BioAire Pump and Zefon Bio-Pump; the Zefon Bio-Pump requires an adapter.
Confirm that your pump and connection support the required flow rate before sampling.
Extended Sampling with WhisperCare®
For collection over longer periods, use M-TRAP® with the WhisperCare® continuous air sampling pump. WhisperCare® uses its own operating flow rates and sampling protocol. Confirm the mode, duration, and cassette configuration with the laboratory.
Submitting Your Sample
- Follow the laboratory’s instructions for sealing, packaging, and shipping the cassette.
- Complete the Chain of Custody form and identify the analyses requested.
- Record the sampling location, flow rate, collection duration, and total air volume.
