Microscopy-Based Mold Analysis
MoldScan is Assured Bio’s in-house name for fungal direct examination. Collect a surface sample using a swab or tape lift for laboratory examination of mold spores and other fungal structures.
Surface sample results describe the fungal structures observed and their relative abundance. Identification is based on visible characteristics and generally reports recognizable fungal types or groups rather than species-level identification.

Swab sampling
- Wet, uneven, soft, or porous surfaces

Optional Add-On Analyses
Allergen Check: microscopic examination for the presence or absence of dander, pollen, and insect parts. This does not measure specific allergenic proteins.
Dust Characterization: assessment of dust components such as carbon, dander, natural fibers, starch, synthetic fibers, and wood.
Standard turnaround: 1 business day. The day your sample arrives at the laboratory is day zero.
