Assured Bio is excited to announce that they have been awarded a small business, Federal contract by the U.S. Air Force.  Assured Bio will use their, state-of-the-art, DNA technology to determine the population structure of a rare endangered species of sunflower that only occurs on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Less than 1,000 adult plants make up the population.  Scientists have also identified several compounds from the plants that may have medicinal properties.  Ms. Deni Sobek will lead the field expedition to catalog, and collect field specimens. Ms. Sobek has a B.S. in botany from Iowa State University and has extensive experience cataloging prairie plants.
