As we are now several months into the COVID-19 pandemic, we are determining best practices and setting methods and protocols for how to best combat the virus and keep our population safe.

These methods and practices are going to be imperative in ensuring that America’s workforce is able to return to the workplace not only safely, but for the long-term. It will take a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach to effectively bring our employees back to working in-person. Through our research, we’ve found three main areas of focus: environmental testing, antibody testing, and protection from infection.

Assured Bio Labs has been working tirelessly since early March to learn as much as we can about SARS-CoV-2 and how to detect the virus in air and on surfaces. Our efforts paid off with Assured Bio being named the first AIHA-LAP accredited lab in North America for environmental air and surface testing for SARS-CoV-2, and in providing the quantitative results our clients need. We’ve paired our patented technologies, the M-TRAP® air sampling cassette and the WhisperCare® continuous air monitoring system, with our SARS-CoV-2 analysis to provide a comprehensive testing package.

Assured Bio has also partnered with a local CLIA certified and ISO 13485:2016 accredited laboratory, EDP Biotech (https://edpbiotech.com/purchase-test-kits/), who have been hard at work developing a FDA EUA approved SARS-CoV-2 antibody test. EDP Biotech has a professional team that is able to perform on-site sample collection for analysis to determine presence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. They’re also able to contract with local phlebotomists in your area if you are out of their team’s range. EDP Biotech is also developing an in-home finger-prick antibody test kit for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies, which is currently pending FDA approval.

Finally, Assured Bio has seen the importance of safe hygiene practices in stopping the spread of COVID-19. Our owner, Dr. Sobek, began building habits into his routine that have now been adopted by our laboratory staff. He created his own infection protection kit, including a holster used to carry a spray bottle of disinfectant for use on hands and common touchpoints. These spray disinfectant kits can be used to equip your workforce and help to protect them when exposed to environments with a potential for infection.

We believe combining these three elements, environmental testing, antibody testing, and infection protection, is going to be the most effective way to bring our workforces back in-person for the long-term.
