Air Sampling Technology

Assured Bio Labs developed M-TRAP® air sampling cassettes and the WhisperCare® air sampling system to collect airborne material for laboratory analysis of fungi and bacteria.

Explore how the collection cassette, sampling equipment, and selected laboratory assays work together to support indoor air quality investigations and environmental monitoring.

M-TRAP® Air Sampling Cassette

M-TRAP® collects airborne material for laboratory analysis of fungi and bacteria. Its molecular entrapment technology uses a treated, three-dimensional fibrous substrate to retain material for analysis.

Use M-TRAP® with a compatible air sampling pump for short-duration collection, or with WhisperCare® for extended sampling.

Laboratory testing uses targeted DNA- or RNA-based assays. The organisms measured and the results reported depend on the analysis selected.

WhisperCare® Air Sampling System

WhisperCare® draws air through M-TRAP® cassettes to collect samples for laboratory analysis of fungi and bacteria.

Designed for quiet operation and extended collection, the system supports environmental monitoring in healthcare, commercial, industrial, and residential settings.

Samples are submitted to the laboratory after collection. Sampling duration, cassette configuration, and analysis selection are tailored to the objectives of your project.

From Air Sample to Laboratory Results

1. Plan your sampling
Identify your investigation’s objectives and select the fungal or bacterial analyses needed. Our laboratory team can help you choose the collection equipment and sampling approach.

2. Collect the sample
Use M-TRAP® with a compatible air sampling pump or the WhisperCare® system. Follow the collection instructions for your equipment and record the sampling location, duration, and air volume.

3. Submit to the laboratory
Label each cassette and complete the appropriate Chain of Custody form. Confirm packaging and shipping requirements with the laboratory before submission.

4. Receive your results
The laboratory analyzes the collected material using the selected molecular assays. Results describe the targets measured in the submitted samples; reporting and turnaround depend on the analysis selected.
