Five hundred and forty eight people reported having gastrointestinal problems after drinking from the water provided by a local zip-lining attraction in Gatlinburg, Tennessee called Climb Works Smoky Mountains. The symptoms that have been reported include: Vomiting, diarrhea, sickness, and tiredness.

The Tennessee Department of Health took a sample of the well water used by Climb Works and found that it tested positive for E. coli and total coliforms. Total coliforms can inlcude bacteria found in the soil/water that typically forms from the remains of animal waste. Climb Works has been said to be fully cooperating on this issue and has been substituting the water from their well with bottled water.
